Enough is enough, when are they going to face up to the fact this industry can not keep going unregulated. Private investigators and detectives (the genuine ones that is!) have a difficult enough life without the ‘cowboy investigators’ in this business being allowed to steal our work.
How can we as a legitimate company paying our taxes, employing professional staff and paying them what they are worth continue to compete against companys who can under cut us by 20 pounds per hour and they send out untrained staff on a fraction of what we pay our highly trained and dedicated investigations teams? The situation is that the general public and most companies have no idea we are unregulated and further more they have no idea that 75% of companies could not stand their evidence up in court as professionals, because they are not experts in surveillance, investigations and covert work. Many companies pay these cowboys large sums of money to carry out surveillance and investigative enquiries, having no idea that the evidence is useless because a good barrister could easily destroy the evidence. A barrister would seize on the opportunity to ask the simple question ‘what surveillance experience have you got and where are your training records?’ – CASE DISMISSED!!
